Our History
In September 2012, Robert Duncan acquired Angus Lift Trucks from its founder, Bill Angus.
A year later, the company expanded by opening a branch in Nottingham, serving both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. This steady growth continued, extending its presence into the West Midlands and Northamptonshire.
In 2018, Angus moved to a custom-built 20,000 sq ft facility in Hinckley, featuring a fully equipped workshop, a used truck warehouse, an RTITB-accredited training centre, and a product showroom.
In 2023, Angus Lift Trucks was acquired by Grant Handling, a leading material handling specialist and part of the Aprolis Group. This acquisition has strengthened Grant Handling’s national presence, supporting its strategy to expand its footprint and deliver quality material handling solutions across the country.
Safety Is Key
At Angus, safety is key. We are an accredited member of the Fork Lift Truck Association and have just been awarded with the FLTA Audit accreditation. Additionally, two members of our team hold the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, Intermediate Occupational Health and Safety certificate, whilst another two have undertaken the Foundation level of this certification.
All members of staff undertake a comprehensive training programme which is tracked by management on a training matrix. Examples of training undertaken include Toolbox talks on working at height, dust and fumes, portable electrical appliances, to full Operator Training and Manual Handling Training.
Thorough Examination
Our customers have peace of mind in knowing that Angus Lift Trucks ‘Thorough Examination’ procedure is accredited by the CFTS and is guaranteed to check the whole truck, thereby ensuring that trucks are 100% safe for use and covered for both LOLER 98 and PUWER 98 regulations.
